The chamber choir Vocal Concert Dresden was founded in 1993 by Peter Kopp as the "Körnerscher Sing-Verein"; since 2008 the ensemble has been performing under a new name. It consists mainly of graduates of the Dresden Academy of Music and former members of the Dresden Kreuzchor.

The emotional radiance of the concerts and its interpretative intelligence have contributed to the choir's esteem. Time and again, the ensemble has been praised for its stylistic confidence and elegant, natural way of making music.

The choir has performed at renowned festivals such as the Leipzig Bach Festival, the Brandenburg Summer Concerts, the Dresden Music Festival and the Göttingen and Halle International Handel Festivals, and has been repeatedly invited to perform in Italy, France, Poland, the Czech Republic, the Netherlands and the USA. In his hometown he has performed in his own concert series and several times in concerts of the Sächsische Staatskapelle Dresden and the Dresden Philharmonic.
